Another boating trip...

We took the boat out again a couple times this week!  The kids are always excited to get in the boat, but then it doesn't take long and they're both "ready to go back home" as Denver says.  I've been trying to come up with some good little toys for them on the boat so if anyone has any suggestions I'd love them (especially for Makenna!).

And then...he dropped his pole in the water...thank goodness he had realized his "tire" (no hook allowed in the boat for him) too early so I quickly grabbed that and we were able to pull it up after some confusion and loss of a lot of line, but Denver was happy to have his pole back.

Concentrating...where are those fish?

The joy of potty training around the clock.

A fish!

Watching the fish in the live well.  The kids love this part...Makenna gets mad when I don't let her stick her hand in to touch it.

Watching Dad clean fish.

"Maybe if I hit my hand on the table the fish will jump again!"

A Boat!

And the latest purchase in our household was a boat.  Evan was very pleased that it came on his birthday, but not so pleased it rained all day!

Bringing the boat home in the rain.

Making room for a boat in an already overflowing 2 stall garage!
Of course this couldn't have been done before the boat arrived!

Finally a nice day to take the boat out!

Makenna exploring the boat while we got it ready to put in the water.

Driving with Dad!

Makenna: "This looks like fun!"

Enjoying her first ever boat ride!

Denver: "Finally fishing from my boat!"

Lucky enough to catch a fish on Wall Lake!

I couldn't resist; our cheesy girl!  She makes us laugh so much!

Look at those eyes!

I LOVE watching them interact!

Circus!

I realized with all of our craziness I forgot to post our pictures from the circus!  I have a wonderful childhood memory of going to the circus with my Grandpa Melvin and Grandma Betty.  Last year Evan and I took Denver (along with our good friends) and I said to Evan that it would be fun to bring along my Grandpa to give the kids some of the same childhood memories.  This year Evan didn't care to go to the cirecus and there was no way I was braving it by myself with the 2 kids, but my mom and grandpa said they'd go with us and thanks to my cousin Tom we got free tickets too!  The kids had a blast.

Makenna was exhausted by intermission time and so I took her out in the lobby and some how worked my magic (that has basically disappeared) and got her to go to sleep for about 30 minutes.  Denver made it the whole way through.  His favorite part was the tigers!  We went pretty early to ensure good seats and plenty of time to get situated and the whole time Denver kept asking where the tigers were.  After the tigers were done he continued to ask where they went and wanted to see them some more.  He did get quite intrigued with the elephants and some other acts as well.

It was fun to watch Denver's face in awe of things and trying to understand how they just did what they did (during the "magic tricks").  There were also times we saw these faces on Makenna.  I'm so glad we went and hope that Grandma Verni and Great Grandpa Melvin will be up for the circus again next year!

Makenna kept insisting upon having some of my mom's pop so she finally gave in and let her try it....it came right back out!  She didn't care for it!  About the only thing she doesn't like! :)
