We had a great Christmas day at home today!  It was so fun seeing the excitement in Denver.  I uploaded a bunch of pictures from our day and hope to do some videos in another post maybe tomorrow.

After naptime Daddy couldn't handle being at home anymore so we adventured out in the snow to Evan's Aunt and Unlce's house...but I forgot the camera so no pictures from that...but this is the snow we saw when we got home.  Getting in and out of our neighborhood was a bit of a challenge.  We got stuck getting out, but after throwing it in and out of reverse enough times we were out and that didn't change Evan's mind of leaving the house.  On the way home a plow thought it could just move over into our lane without looking so we had a close call there too...thank goodness for lots of snow so we could quickly drive up on the curve!  We actually got in our driveway with no problems, but getting into the garage was a little tougher.  There were several people stuck on our street when we got home as well.  Here are some pictures of our neighborhood.  In the 5 years we've lived here we've never seen this much snow!

Then it was bath time for the kids!  They love taking baths together.

Christmas Eve at the Kindt Household

Last night we had a wonderful, quiet Christmas Eve.  Due to all the crazy weather we tried doing some Christmas' early which in turn left us with "no plans" for Christmas Eve.  Evan had to work, so I dealt with crabby kids until he got home.  Then we went to our Church candlelight service and then back home for supper and to let the kids open a couple presents.

I got a picture of the kids and us as a family in front of the tree too! Didn't think that would actually happen...nothing special, but something which in my book is better than nothing. We'll see how the day goes today (maybe you'll get a Christmas day blog yet too)....looking like we are snowed in. There are huge drifts throughout our neighborhood. There is a drift as tall as a car (or taller) in our neighbor's driveway and last night we saw someone walking down the street with a shovel...must have gotten stuck trying to get home. For now we're just enjoying a quiet, nice relaxful day at home playing with new toys!

Denver got to open up "Mack" (he's from the movie "Cars" and he actually holds all of his cars) and Makenna got to open up her twin Cabbage Patch dolls (I've been waiting for the day I could buy my little girl a Cabbage Patch doll!....can't believe it took me this long)

We hope all of you are having a wonderful Christmas even though this weather may have put a damper on your plans....but maybe this weather will help slow down all the hussle and bussle so we have time to take in the true meaning of Christmas.  Merry Christmas from our house to yours!

Makenna is 7 months old!

Once again, I'm a little behind...Makenna turned 7 months old on December 5th.  (I promise Denver's 2 year pictures are coming....I took them on my sisters camera so I have to get them from her before I can post them).  Since I'm busier with 2 than I was with one I've decided a couple pictures will do and I'm not going to spend a whole day trying to get the perfect 7 month picture . 

What is new with our 7 month old girl you may ask, well this is what I've come up with (but there could be more that I forgot to include):

        -She loves to sit on the floor with a tub full of toys and to take them out, play with them, and then when the tub is empty she likes to play with the tub and chew on it!

        -She's getting stronger...if you put her up on her hands and knees she can hold herself for a little while, but not real long...she's too heavy to have enough arm strength to hold herself up very long! :)  Makenna can pull herself up to a sitting position from laying down or from a sitting position to standing if you give her your fingers to hang on to

        -Makenna loves to watch her brother run around, jump, and be crazy and in turn he makes her giggle!  It's so fun watching these 2 interact together.  They both love each other lots!

        -She loves paper (and tries to eat it), but even more she's fascinated with feet and socks!  She wants to eat hers and everyone else's (gross!)

        -Little miss independent should be her name....Makenna loves to do things herself, especially when it comes to eating...she'd rather eat a puff or cheerio than someone feeding her baby food.  I have a feeling baby food won't be in the house very long and she'll just be eating chunks of things...but there are still no teeth, so it will have to be things she can gum up

        -One of the most exciting things for mommy...Makenna's hair is growing!  Look at the pictures...yes the bow is CLIPPED in her hair!

        -This one is more about me, than Makenna, but I've decided I either need to get to the gym and work on my arm muscles or its time to get Makenna out of her infant carseat (how sad!) as its getting tougher and tougher to lug her around in it

Omaha/Hunting Trip '09

The first weekend in November my mom and I packed the kids up and went to Omaha while my dad and Evan went deer hunting. We did this last year, but then it was only Denver and we went to help Kim get ready for the arrival of Jacob. Crazy how 1 year, can change so much!

We had a great time. The cousins had a blast playing together and it was fun watching Jacob wanting to keep up with Denver and Makenna wanting to keep up with Jacob. They help encourage the other to try new things! We spent almost our entire time at Kim and Jeff's house as 3 littles ones of all different ages usually means someone is sleeping. We did find time to make it to the park to play for a little while which was nice to help them get all of their leftover energy out before bedtime.

The kids had a lot of fun playing at the park, especially Denver. He loves to swing, slide, and run! I of course had a great idea of taking a picture with the pretty leaves that were still on the trees (unlike our ones at home at this point)....this was quite the experience...I did a little editing so that I had 5 heads looking at me, but I'm quite impressed we got a half way decent picture! :)

Makenna started eating food before we left for this trip, but hadn't been at it for too long. Finally on Sunday I stripped her naked to feed her because sitting in the bumbo seat instead of the highchair seemed to make her a messier eater and she thought she needed control of the spoon a lot of the time. Here's some pictures of her mess of sweet potatoes!

We played in the leaves before leaving Sunday afternoon. Kim and I had hoped to get some good, fun cousin pictures, but that didn't really happen. Denver HATED the leaves. He's a little obsessed with being "messy" and it bothered him (in our return trip for Jacob's birthday and baby dedication he was okay playing in them, thank goodness!). Makenna and Jacob enjoyed the leaves though as you can see.

Oh, and I suppose I should inform you on the deer hunting results. Evan got his buck and Dad got a doe. They both returned the Friday after Thanksgiving so Dad could get his buck and Evan got his doe. (For some reason the pictures of them and their deer are not loading, so sorry no pictures.)
