Zoo, zoo, and more zoo

I got a zoo pass again this year and I know we will have no problem getting our money out of it!  Denver LOVES going to the zoo and is always asking to go.  The week we got it we went twice and now he saw me going through pictures for this post and he said "Can we go to the zoo right now?".  We just may have to be making a trip there or he might make me go crazy!  Denver loves the bears and tigers.  He also enjoys the fish, monkeys, giraffe, and zebras.  His fascination with zebras has kind of died to what it was like last summer.  They also have a sand "box" to play in so I'll have to remember to take the sand toys along next time as last time he wanted to play in it, but wasn't sure what to do and ended up throwing sand at a little girl...who really didn't care, but her grandma sure did and was quite rude to me about it.  Not that I approve of him throwing sand because I don't, we had a little talk about it, and I made him appologize and then wouldn't let him go near anyone in the sandbox following.  The following pictures are from when we went to the zoo with our friends Ashley & Berkley.

Makenna has little fear...Denver on the other hand is a little more cautious. as you can see in this picture.

Excitement...

...looking at the bears.

Feeding the goats...

...what fun!

hmmmm....can I touch him?

Oh I touched him!

Now what?

Milking the cow...being just like Papa Rodney!

Too busy watching the giraffes and zebras to take a picture!

She's happiest when she's toddling around!  Too busy to be held...and getting to busy to have any time to sit in the stroller.

"I can't WAIT until you can run with me Berkley!"

The Joy of a Fruit....Watermelon!

Watermelon is a favorite fruit in our household.  Denver asks for it all the time and if he sees I bought one and it hasn't been cut up he wants it right then!  Makenna also enjoys it, but since her first experience of eating watermelon off a the rind she has learned she likes how it feels to squish it in her hands so I don't let her have it as much anymore (because I get sick of cleaning up the mess!).

Denver doesn't like his picture being taken much anymore, so he's getting jipped in this post as he told me "don't take a picture!".

I couldn't resist not sharing this picture too.  This is while we were eating supper, before the watermelon.  My kids have the same problem as me....a hard time sitting proper at a table.  We are always laughing when we catch the kids doing little habits that we have and can't break.  (Don't worry...I don't sit at the table like this eating.)

Family Camping Trip

Last weekend we went to Snake Creek for a family camping trip.  Camping with 2 little children is a lot of work, but it still was a lot of fun!  I personally just love being outdoors and by the water.  The first night was a little to be desired as the kids were up at 5:30a.m..  The kids both took turns waking up and crying some through out the night.  They both woke up with colds the morning we left to go camping so they didn't feel good, were in a strange place, and not used to sleeping in the same room.  Makenna some times will wake up and talk herself back to sleep and so she started talking, but Denver thought that was funny so then he started talking to her and they just fed off each other until I said forget, lets get up.  Needless to say they both had several naps because they were exhausted from a short, restless night of sleep!

The first evening Evan grilled supper; we had sweet corn and pork chops for supper.

Denver loves corn and thought it was great to get to eat if off the cob again!

Makenna eating supper.

The beautiful view as we drove the boat down the river.

Fishing like Daddy!

Multi-tasking at his finest.  Driving, messing with the fish finder, and fishing.

Mommy and Makenna.....Makenna was exhausted before we got on the boat, it didn't take long til she crashed in my arms and we all were able to enjoy our boat ride and fishing experience.

My boys and their popcorn!
We made Jiffy Popcorn both nights on the grill...I have to admit, it was delicious!

Riding in the boat.

Having a snack.

Both sitting in a seat...a rare-ity!

I just laugh when I see this picture....my little girl who loves to eat!
This picture was taken because Denver tried taking off with the whole bag of chips and I said no, and Dad then said "ask mom if you can have one chip for each hand", as Denver is getting his chip for each hand Makenna turns around and has 3 in one and 1 in the other!  Too funny!

These 2 truly are best friends!

"Not so sure about this getting dirty and not taking a bath....maybe I can clean up myself with the dish soap!"

Sitting in the camp chair while watching Daddy and Denver fish.

Worms!  Denver actually loved getting the worms out to fish with...he typically doesn't like getting "messy".

"Oh I caught a big one!"

This is what Evan and I spent most of the time doing...untangling Denver's line from the rocks going down to the river.

Evan's 2nd walleye that he caught not far from our cabin.
(The first one got away...and this one almost did too!)

Making breakfast...pancakes!

Watching brother fish.

The morning before we left we took Denver down to a kids fishing pond on the campground and let him fish.

He caught lots of little fish...blue gills maybe?  Have to ask Evan, I didn't pay too close attention.
He also caught a turtle who stole his bobber!

Laughing with Mommy while waiting for the boys to get the fishing out of their system for the day!
