Denver's First Wedding

Friends of mine (Steven and Amy Muller) got married last weekend and we were able to attend the wedding as a family. This was Denver's first time to a wedding and he was such a good boy. Here are some pictures from the evening.

Here Denver is biting on the stick that had ribbons attached to it
that we waved as the bride and groom walked out of the Church.

Here Denver is being a good boy sitting on the floor at the
reception playing with his toys while Mommy and Daddy ate and visited with friends.

Denver's Endeavors

Denver has learned how to give Mommy and Daddy kisses. I was all proud when I thought I taught him how to do this and sent Daddy an email to let him know what Denver had learned, but he quickly called me from work and said "What you don't know is I taught him that last night when you were at work!". Denver is also getting better at playing catch and tries to throw you the ball. He's so proud of himself when he can roll it back to you! It's super cute. I also got him to stand by himself for about 5 seconds (maybe it was more like 3 seconds...but it's something!), but Daddy doesn't believe me because he was too busy watching TV he didn't hear me tell him to look at Denver. Denver can stand by himself leaning against something for a short period of time, but we have to be close to catch him when he falls as he doesn't like falling! He's working on figuring out how to crawl, but is not quite strong enough yet. He can hold himself up on a fours for a short amount of time. We bought a baby gate and need to start baby proofing this house as it won't be long and Denver will be getting into lots of things. Here are some pictures of our precious baby boy.

Denver is a "Daddy's Boy"! He gets super excited when he sees his Daddy walk in the door.

I'm ready to play basketball!!
Denver continues to love going outside and for walks. We are excited to take him to the park, the beach, and so much more this summer!

A Day on the Farm

Denver got to spend this past Sunday on Grandpa Rodney and Grandma Verni's farm. It was a beautiful day so we went outside to meet all the animals!

Here Denver is playing with Binx. Grandma and Grandpa's new puppy!

Denver was very interested in the grass and Binx's leash as well.
Binx gave Denver a kiss on the forehead.

We also went to see the baby calves. Denver wasn't as sure about the calves as they were rambunctious and bigger!

Six Months

Denver was 6 months this past Saturday. On Monday we had his 6 month well baby visit. He weighed in at 15 lbs 1oz and was almost 25 1/2 inches long. Denver got 3 more immunization shots as well. Mommy worked that night and Denver thought that him and Daddy shouldn't sleep either! Denver was up from 2a.m.-4a.m. just wanting attention. The past couple days he's continued to be clingy and not himself. We're not sure what's bothering him, but think that maybe those teeth are working on popping out as he continues to chew away on things. Here are some pictures I took of him on Saturday.

Yummy Vegetables

Denver loves to eat his vegetables, but he also loves to make a mess if you let him! I decided to strip him down to his diaper to eat one day (this was probably about a week and a half ago) and let him make a mess. He thought is was great! I think he had mixed vegetables that day. Hope you enjoy the pictures as much as he enjoyed making the mess and eating his vegetables!

Here he is after I got him cleaned up and let him play on the floor of his room before he got dressed again.

Denver is 6 months old on Saturday! The time flew so fast. I don't think we could be having any more fun with him than we are and he's a great baby! Thanks for reading our blog and keeping up with us. We are overwhelmed by all the people who care about Denver and us and keep checking out the blog. This has been such a great way for me to keep everyone updated without having to try to find time to call people during the little down time that I do have, so thanks!

Mommy's First Mother's Day

Mommy's first Mother's Day was not every thing she would have liked it to be as she had to work, but Daddy helped make the day a little more special by bringing Denver to see her and have lunch together as a family. I said we should have Mother's Day on Saturday so I can actually spend the day with my boys! We'll see if that actually happens.

Here are some pictures from our Mother's Day evening:

It's amazing how strong a mother's love is for her children. Although I couldn't spend the day just being a Mom, on Mother's Day, I am overjoyed to be Denver's Mom! I have found even a greater purpose for my life and have no clue what I was doing with my life before he came! I love my boys very much!

Our boy continues to grow and attemp to be a "bigger" boy than he already was the day before. Denver will not only pull himself up to a standing position by grabbing onto your hands he will also stand by the couch (or on the couch as seen in the picture below...since he was turned around for the camera he had to lean against the couch to stable him) or by something else that he can hang onto.

Lots New

A lot has happened since my last post, but we've been running too much that I haven't had time to sit down and do an update. Denver had his first plane ride to go to his Uncle Aaron's graduation in Indiana. Denver did very well on the plane. He was a little fussy at times, but we did lots of waiting in the airport and on the plane waiting to take off due to rain in Chicago. After being gone from home for 5 days Denver (AND Mom and Dad) was happy to be home!

Congratulations Uncle Aaron!

Here are some photos from our trip:

Denver loved watching out the window of the plane before and after we took off.

We found some interesting places for Denver to eat while we were on our trip. Here Denver's sitting on the floor in a dressing room in a mall. He thought the mirrors were great and was happy to get a dry diaper, into some comfy clothes (post Church), and to fill his belly!

Denver at the hotel. Aren't I cute?!

Denver continues to sit better on his own every day. He loves to sit on the floor and play with his toys. He thinks he's cool stuff now! Denver can lean and reach for toys and return to his sitting position without falling over.

Denver continues to love reading books, but insists upon turning the pages himself. He's been doing this for quite some time now (I think he figured it out around 3 months old), but we forget to go find the video camera to record him doing it before we sit down to read. We'll try and get a video of it for all of you to see.

Several more new trick were learned this past week by Denver. He figured out how to play "peek-a-book" with you. When we were waiting in the airport he figured out how to pull the blanket down, but this weekend he started covering up his face and uncovering it and looking at you and smiling. He loves playing peek-a-boo with his Daddy! If you give Denver your hands he'll pull himself up to standing position from a sitting position. He is very proud and gets excited about it. Look out world here comes a busy boy!

Denver has figured out how to roll consecutively now, but doesn't do it very often and I don't think he's ever been caught doing it; he's just found in a complete different spot on the floor than where he started.

Denver also had his first haircut before our trip, but Daddy was getting his hair cut at the same time so Mommy didn't get any pictures. :( I do have the hair the cut though! They didn't take much off it was just to get rid of the long part on one side that didn't fall out like the rest and had a little curl to it and evened out the rest. It's really starting to fill back in well.

Here's some fun pictures of Denver sitting and playing.

Mmmm....Sonic! Denver loves straws and Daddy thinks that Denver even figured out how to suck out of it at one point as the straw all of a sudden got cold! (FYI the Sonic drink was gone before he got to play with the cup and straw)

Fun in the Sun

April 19th was a gorgeous day and it was Denver's first day outside to play! He really liked it. The grass was very intriguing to him.

Five Months

Too much going on this month that this is what you get for Denver's 5 month pictures.
