Happy Easter!

Easter morning we did Resurrection eggs.

We've done these in the past at Church, but I came across a toddler one on Pinterest this year and thought the kids would possibly get more out of this one.

After they were done with their eggs they went on a little scavenger hunt for a couple special treats.

Sonrise Saturday

The day before Easter our Church has "Sonrise Saturday" which consists of activities to help the kiddos learn more about Jesus' life, death, and resurrection, a light breakfast, and an egg "hunt".

Here Denver and Makenna are lifting up the cross to see how heavy of a cross Jesus had to carry.

They also had a baby lamb and baby chicks for the kids to see and touch.

The kids had a blast and enjoyed their eggs filled with candy and treats when they got home from Church.

Easter 2011

In effort to once again try to get up to date on the blog (starting to think I'm never going to achieve that) this will be one big post of pre-Easter and Easter.  On Evan's birthday (April 23rd), our Church had their Easter event for the kids.  Unfortunately, Evan had to work, but I was able to talk Grandma Kim into coming along with me and helping the kids so they could still go and have fun and help me keep my sanity in the process! :)

Saturday night before bed we finally made time to dye eggs.  Due to some miscommunication I did this with the 2 kids by myself.  I'm sure if some one had this on video it would be quite hilarious.  Kenna kept thinking she needed to crack the eggs which led to some quick action on my part several times....there were several eggs that we could not dye.  Both kids had a blast and wanted to do it all by themselves.

After a lot of contemplating I decided to buy the dye that you use a bag for as I thought that might make less mess....at least we couldn't have a spill of dye all over the place, right?!

After I got the kids cleaned up and Kenna to bed, Evan joined Denver and I as we finished dying the rest of the eggs.

Easter morning the kids got Easter baskets.  I wish I had the camcorder going, they both were so excited.

Denver got a baseball glove (for the "right" hand...for the left...we have a lefty or so it seems and of course we had bought him a right handed glove first) and ball and Kenna got her first fishing pole (Princess of course!)

We had lunch at Grama Verni and Papa Rodney's where we shared our Easter eggs that we dyed.

Happy Belated Easter!

I can't believe I even titled this Happy Belated Easter...how pathetic.  I'm trying, but now that the weather is nice we're outside playing therefore I have little free time in the house anymore.  I had to post pictures from Easter as having a little girl to dress up for Easter this year was so much fun, along with my handsome little man!  Also, I really do hope to do a post about Keith, but once again I just want to touch on how meaningful Easter was for us as a family this year.  We spent Easter with the Kindt's this year.  It was so nice to be together as a family, even though we were missing Evan's dad, Keith.  Easter really helped ease some of the pain I've felt through the loss of Keith.  It re-reminded me of the amazing God we have and because of Him sending His one and only Son to die on the cross for our sins some day we will see Keith again, healed!  What more could we ask for during this difficult time!  Once again I want to thank all of you for your thoughts and prayers as we deal with the loss of Evan's dad and Grandpa Keith.  My heart still breaks that my little ones will probably never remember their Grandpa Keith, but is reassured that some day they will get to meet him and not say goodbye!  Enjoy our Easter pics!
