Memorial Weekend

We had a busy Memorial weekend.  Friday started with playing at home, outside!  The kids both kept reaching in the pool, playing in the water so I finally put on the suits and said "go!".  The water was too cold, and it wasn't that hot outside so it didn't last long.

And we wonder why Makenna is such a monkey....monkey see monkey do!

Friday evening we got to meet "Uncle" Aaron's, girlfriend, Debra for the first time.  They played with the kids for a while and then us 4 adults went out on a double date while cousin Jamie and her boyfriend Bryant came to watch the kids!  (Thanks Jamie and Bryant....they had a blast as did we!)

Saturday we ran errands, took naps (or some of us did), and then went to Grandpa David and Grandma Kim's farm to be with the Schaap side of the family.  The kids had a blast as they got to meet their baby puppies for the first time and see all the other animals along with riding the 4 wheeler.

Thanks to Great Grandma Lu, Mommy got in on a couple pictures!

Sunday we went to Church, had lunch with Evan's family, took naps, and went to spend time with the Kindt's in the evening and have supper with them.

Monday we got to spend as a family of 4...thanks to Mommy getting undert time at work Sunday night!  We got up, had breakfast and went out to Lake Vermillion where we did a little fishing, Denver and Mommy rode on the tube for a little bit, and both the kids took turns driving the boat.  Before Mommy had to leave for work we had a yummy meal of chislic out on the deck.

Evan caught a Northern

And finally she konked so we all could enjoy some time out on the boat.

Reunited

Last week I jumped in the car with the kids, picked up one of my good friends Ashley and her little girl, Berkley and we drove to Sioux City where we met our good friends who moved to Omaha, Aimee and her kiddos Abby and Mason.  First we had to check out Gap Outlet and then we picked up food and hit the park for the kids to play.  The kids had a blast and I think we will definitely need to do this again.  Denver was reunited with his Abby which made his day!  Thankfully we haven't had too many breakdowns since Abby moved, but Denver definitely talks about her, wants to see her, and miss her!  It was great watching them have so much fun together and letting us moms catch up.  The other 3 little ones just hung out; Berkley in her little seat at the table, Mason crawling and walking along the tables, and Makenna walking all over the place.  We let the kids play until they were exhausted, thinking that the kids would take good naps on the drive back home, but boy was I wrong...the 3 in my car slept about 30 minutes and it was over!  Here are some pictures from our time together.

Having some snacks after lunch...it was too windy (oh and maybe I was too lazy to go get my forgotten camera in the car) to take pictures during lunch, stuff kept flying.

These guys were too little when they moved to know that they were going to be missing their good friend!

Little ones don't get that they all have to look at the camera at the same time!

Running, running, and running

The big kids did play on a jungle gym too, but by the time I got up to go take pictures of them on it they wouldn't go back on it.

A night at Wall Lake

I finally download almost 200 pictures from my little camera so figured I better get some of this up on the blog so I can get to current things.  Several weeks ago we decided to take the boat out to Wall Lake after supper.  I scrambled like crazy to have the kids fed and ready to go by the time Evan got home from work so it wouldn't get so late (so we'd have happy kids).  When Evan went to get the boat ready he found that Denver had been playing in the boat the previous day and turned the key...and now the battery was dead.  Evan charged the battery while we finished getting every thing ready and loaded up.  He grabbed jumper cables and we were on our way.  We put the boat in the water.....and.....it wouldn't start.  So Evan got out the jumper cables and that didn't work, another guy tried to jump us too and that didn't work either, so we loaded the boat back up and went to the shoreline for the boys to fish for a little bit.  Here are some pictures from our evening.

They caught fish after fish after fish....but they were tiny!

Denver just couldn't get enough!

Concentrating.

Due to our early start the kids were able to play outside some when we got home before bed.
