Omaha Weekend Trip

Evan, the kids, and I went to Omaha for the weekend.  This trip was for Evan to meet Malachi, for us to spend time with my sister and her family, and to spend time with our dear friends the Hoffmans.  It was a quick trip, but it was worth every minute of it.

Makenna is just in love with Malachi

Caleb's a great big brother
as is Jacob, but he was too busy running with his cousins that I missed any good pictures of him

Denver decided he could finally join in on the group picture

and yes, they are only 10 days apart but probably 4 inches apart in size! :)

Isn't she just a miniature Mommy?

SnOw!

Both the kids, but especially Denver were excited to wake up and see snow.  Denver was out playing and shoveling in the snow at least 3 times today if not 4 or 5.  I felt like all I did all day was dress and undress kids from snow gear.  Kenna was slightly scared to walk in the snow; I think she was unsure of the how deep it was and if she'd fall in it.  Makenna also wasn't real impressed with the cold temperature and didn't last for long intervals outside like Denver.  She was happier to be inside with her Mommy who had a very good excuse to stay inside as her boots were still packed away and hadn't made it to the new house yet.  Denver on the other hand was loving every minute of it and so happy to finally be able to use the snow shovel he got for Christmas.

So excited to be shoveling!

Denver was such a good big brother and helped Makenna when she was scared stepping in the snow.

Watching her big brother.

Come on Kenna, lets go sledding!

Trying to pull Makenna in the sled (without a rope)

...that didn't work, let's try pushing.

Another nephew...Malachi Paul

January 17th my sister and her husband and their boys welcomed their 3rd boy, Malachi Paul into their family.  We feel so blessed that God has entrusted our family with another adorable lil man.  Baby Malachi arrived at 3:41pm weighing in at 7lbs 12oz and 20 3/4 inches long.  The kids and I (and my parents) were able to meet the little man shortly after his arrival and we all just adore him.  I had to fight for time to snuggle my youngest nephew as my kids wanted to hold him every second possible.

A happy family of 5

This lil girl could've held him all day.

Denver could hold Malachi all day too....he wanted him even when he wasn't paying attention to Malachi.

My Latest Addiction...Pinterest

Its good if you can admit you have a problem, right?  Well, I do, I'll be the first to admit, I'm addicted to pinterest.  My sister wanted me to join awhile ago, but I knew I'd be addicted and I'd never get our house packed up to move or get anything done for that matter if I opened up a pinterest account so I held off on the urge, but once we got settled into our house I couldn't hold off the urge anymore and dear that could be scary, BUT we'll have a really cute, decorated house because of it! :)

Thought I'd share my latest completed pinterest projects.  And don't worry, there will be plenty more to come as I have more pinned than I could ever do and I can't stop pinning!

I painted a dresser for Makenna's room and got some new pull knobs.

And made Makenna a headband holder.

Here it is in use and that's not all of her headbands, its now plum full...looking like I'll need to make her another one.

Things to look for in upcoming posts....first pinterest projects that I hope to complete soon: prayer board, a nightstand for Makenna's room, pillows for Makenna's room, and paint Makenna's room.  And, hopefully really soon, a blog introducing my newest neice or nephew who I can NOT wait to meet, snuggle, and love!

Winter Park Days

I'm quite sure my husband is smiling from ear to ear at work as it seems as winter may finally be here as we finally had enough snow that the ground looked white.  It was quite odd going from a sunny, gorgeous day (maybe around 58 degrees or so) at the park with my kiddos to snow falling and the following day after that being really cold!  Both Monday and Tuesday were nice days and the kids and I spent both of them at the park.  Tuesday I went for my first bike ride with Denver on his bike and me on mine (pulling Kenna in the trailer behind).  In the past I've always walked if Denver was riding his bike and we were going down the street, but I braved it and trusted him to listen and be safe and he did great!
The kids playing so nice together the other afternoon.
A common place to find the kids.
I love being able to work in the kitchen in the morning while they eat their breakfast.

Having lunch at the park after riding our bikes there (on Monday)

Denver ran like crazy while we were at the park both days.  I can't imagine how he would've outleted his energy had we not been able to get outside and play!

A beautiful view at the nice little park close to our house.
I have a feeling we'll be spending lots of time here come spring, summer, AND fall!
