Denver's birthday was more like a week of celebration and did he ever enjoy it! First on the 5th, a present came in the mail from Great Aunt Betty and Great Uncle Dale. On Nov 6th, the kids and I joined my Mom at our high school's benefit auction where Denver became a proud owner of a new, big John Deere tractor, as an early birthday present. Then on the 14th we celebrated with the Kindt's (for both Denver and Rachel's birthdays). On Denver's actual birthday, the 17th we had fun all day long! Before lunch we headed to Daddy's shop to share cupcakes with everyone and then went out for lunch with Daddy where Denver got to open 1 present. After lunch it was home for naps to get ready to go play that night. In the evening we went to Xcite Family Fun Center and invited friends to come join us. Denver had a blast playing with all of his little friends. Once the playing was over we went home to have cupcakes, ice cream, and open presents. On the 19th I made Denver's John Deere cake for the big party with our families the following day. And that evening Evan's cousin Jordan and his wife Ann came over to give Denver his birthday present as they weren't able to be at the Kindt party. The 20th was our family party. Then on Thanksgiving Denver was surprised with a visit from his dear friend, Abby! Finally on the 28th we celebrated Denver and his cousin Jacob's birthdays! Spoiled rotten, huh?
Denver is extremely smart and picks up on almost every thing. He is definitely all boy and loves it! If Denver isn't playing tractors, he's hunting with his giant imagination (whether its coyotes, deer, hippos, buffalo, whatever, you name it), and he still does enjoy his cars, train, and Lego's as well. His love for hunting has come from his Daddy, and probably his Papa Rodney too. There are many times you will find my two boys snuggled up in the recliner watching the hunting channel, thus the imagination of hunting hippos and buffalo. His comments while he's hunting "take him", "I got him", "he went limp", and more! The love for the farm and tractor rides are still there and he's adjusted nicely to the fact that there are no cows at Papa Rodney and Grama Verni's house anymore. Denver has become a big John Deere fan, especially now that Papa Rodney works at John Deere.
Denver's 3 year statistics:
36.5 inches (slightly about the 25%)
and of course its been too long ago I can't remember his weight exactly but it was about 30 pounds (10%)
