Makenna's Two Month Check-up and Pictures

I can't believe that my little girl is already 2 months old! Since she was 2 months old the day after the 4th of July. I contemplated doing her pictures in a patriotic outfit, but I never really got her one and therefore gave up that idea and pulled out another cute dress of hers!

Makenna had her 2 month appointment July 9th. She of course looked great and passed with flying colors! We know we don't have to worry about our little girl being too small as she was in the 90% across the board!

Weight: 12 lbs 7oz (birth weight was 6 lbs 13oz)

Length: 23 7/8 inches (birth length was 19.5 inches)

Head: 15 inches (head circumference was 14 inches)

Makenna had to get 3 shots as it was immunization time. She also got an oral vaccination which she actually didn't seem to like...it's supposedly very sugary. The shots she also didn't like! That was obvious. She held her breath forever and then screamed and screamed and screamed. I don't remember Denver ever being so upset after his shots and it seems that they get worse with age so when it comes to her 18 month shots I just may make Daddy take her! I asked if he heard her murmur this time and he said it was very, very faint and he wouldn't have noticed it if I hadn't asked. We hope and pray that her murmur is gone next time we go to the clinic at 4 months (for more immunizations).

Makenna has been sleeping through the night consistently since about 7 weeks old. At 2 months she was going 6-8 hours and now she's stretching to 9 hours! Last night she slept close to 10 hours!

Otherwise, Makenna is smiling lots. We haven't gotten her to giggle yet, but I know it's coming. She is the happiest in the mornings and a couple times when I've gone to get her out of her crib she'll start to laugh and quit! Makenna has found her hands and spends lots of time looking at them. She can hold onto a toy for quite some time and has been doing this for awhile now. Makenna loves for you to talk to her and she will talk back to you. She also lets you know when she's not impressed. Lots of times when I stop her from eating to burp she lets out a high pitched scream. Makenna loves her brother and for the most part is quite tolerant of him. It's only when he gets to rough or fails to see that she's in his road and steps or sits on her (which doesn't happen that often). Makenna has also found her tongue and could play with it for hours. It's so funny watching her smack her lips and move her tongue around.

I finally was able to bring myself to taking Makenna's newborn clothes out of her drawers. The little dresses are still hanging though...wishing I could cram her into them one more time! Being in the 90% and growing makes Makenna outgrow her outfits very fast. She currently wears anywhere from a 0-3 month outfit to a 6 month outfit. Most of her clothes are 0-3 months and 3 months though. The sleepers are starting to almost be only 3 months or 3-6 months though as she seems to be too long for the others...but these she doesn't fill out around...so at least she's not short and chubby! :)
